No, not a new Sea Shanty group, but a chance for the AYC Fishermen & Fisherwomen to get together over a pint and a pasty and tell tales of the one that got away or the ones that they are going to catch this year. The evening is intended for those that do and those who want to, or maybe those who just want to know a bit more about what goes on out there.
The bar will open at 5pm. The evening will get under way at 7pm with two short talks, which will then be followed by an Open Forum / Brains Trust, offering the opportunity for those present to ask questions or raise points for discussion. We have two expert speakers, both of whom will be known to Club members. The intention is to eat at about 8.30pm. Discussion items could include local fishing marks, equipment, lures, regulations, recipes or competitions for the Clubs fishing cups.
Supper will be basic pasty (traditional or vegetarian), chips and peas followed by fruit pie and cream, for £5. We need to know numbers in advance for this so please book through the Club website (bookings close 12:00 Thursday 5th February):
PLEASE BOOK IF PLANNING TO ATTEND +/- FOOD
Members are welcome to bring guests along. Please book their meals on your account and remember to sign them into the Club on the night. Food is not compulsory! However, to give us some idea of how many chairs to put out it would be most helpful if you would sign in on the website as attending. If you make a last-minute decision to come along dont worry we will cope.
We look forward to seeing you on the 6th.
