RYA Dinghy training

AYC aims to help cadets and adults develop their skills in a way that is complementary to the way that the RYA teaches and offers some dinghy training for beginners and improvers over the summer months. 

In 2017 the RYA gave approval for the Training Committee to add dinghy instruction to the Club's list of RYA recognised courses. Although the Club is a recognised training centre for dinghy sailing, due to the unpredictable nature of beach launching and the tidal nature of the river, we cannot offer formal RYA dinghy training courses in the same way that a commercial RYA sea school can. RYA coaching/certification weekends are organised at intervals. Members also have the chance to complete stages/levels of the RYA National & Youth Dinghy Sailing Schemes at nearby centres. 

It is important to emphasize that the Club is not a commercial RYA sea school and therefore does not offer dinghy training courses to non-AYC members.
