Social programme - overview
The Club's activities afloat are supported by a full programme of social events. The Social Committee is chaired by a Rear Commodore who is a Club Officer elected at the AGM each year.
The Bar is open every Friday evening and Sunday lunchtime throughout the year. It is also open for the programmed social functions. During the season, it is usually open on Saturday evenings and sometimes opens on other days for post-race drinks or simply to allow members to enjoy the evening sunshine with a beer on the decking overlooking the bay (when the flag is up the bar is open!).

During the season, members enjoy food on the west terrace cooked on BYO BBQs or by pop-up caterers. This may be accompnied by 'Boules on the Beach'.
Dinners are held in the Ward Room at the start & end of the season with a Fitting Out Party in March/April and a Laying Up Supper in October/November.

The Annual Prize-Giving event, including a buffet lunch, is held in November. Trophies are awarded to sailors and motor boaters of all ages and the event usually includes a slide show of the winners in action.

Other major events include the Axe Regatta Weekend and the Club's Charity Weekend - activities on the water are accompanied by a programme of BBQ's, buffets, musical entertainment and fund raising activities. AYC's nominated charity is the RNLI.
There are a variety of other events in the programme including a Halloween party and Christmas Lunch.

The Club has a Facebook page where information and updates are posted regularly. The AYC Member's Forum is a private Facebook group where AYC members can post their own stories and photos.
