  • Boat Fishing Competition - Sunday 12th June

    The second match between SSAC & AYC is a flatfish competition. Species to count include Plaice, Brill, Turbot, Flounder, Topknot, Dab, Sole, & Megrim.     AYC Summer Party - Saturday 25th June

    The bar will open at 6pm after the Saturday pm dinghy sailing. There will be food from 7pm (£5 pay on the night) & then music provided by the very popular 'Second Image'.     Push The Boat Out Success!

    Sunshine, light northerly winds & flat seas made for a perfect day for PTBO. We welcomed over 70 visitors to the Club. 35 had a dinghy taster session and others were introduced to cruiser sailing.     Now that the boating season is upon us we would like to remind you that the bar opening hours are as follows: Friday 5-11pm Saturday 6-11pm Sunday 12-2pm When Wednesday evening sailing starts in June the bar will be open post racing.

  • 'Two Old Men In A Boat'

    Eddie Burrows & Geoff Pook set off from the Axe on 14th May to sail around the UK on yacht Sancler. After a brief stop in Newlyn because of a problem with rope around the rudder, they have made it to the Isles of Scilly. You can follow their progress at Geoff & Eddie's Blog .

    Boat Fishing Competition Sunday 15th May

    First competition against Seaton Sea Anglers - who can catch the most species? Entry fee £2 (£1 for RNLI, £1 towards prizes). High tide 13:30, weigh in at AYC clubhouse 15:00.   • 'Fishermen's Friday' Talk - RESCHEDULED to 13th May 7pm

    Apologies to everyone who turned up for the talk on Friday 6th - due to unforeseen circumstances John Wallington & Steve Wainwright could not get to the Club. Steve will now demonstrate the use of an "Alderney ring" and "Lazy line" to safely retrieve your anchor without venturing onto the foredeck next Friday 13th May. This will be a practical demonstration in the yard. All welcome!
