Cadet Sailing Weekend
26th - 28 July
This year we are focussing on a three day weekend of sailing and fun on the water, enabling less experienced cadets to learn some basic skills and the more experienced to develop some new skills. We are aiming to develop a group of cadets who will then sail regularly at AYC. The sailing will be led by our most experienced ex-cadet Elliot. There will be social gatherings on Friday and Saturday evenings.
A parent/responsible adult (max 3 children per adult) MUST be there at all times to supervise their child/ren and all activities will be supported by the parents as:
- Support boat helms
- Support boat crews (no training required)
- Beach support (helping with rigging, launching, winch etc - training given!)
- Catering support (purchasing & distributing snacks, drinks etc), washing up, clearing up the clubhouse
- Group leaders (sign in, sign out, supervise a group getting to and from river or beach). Assist with rigging etc. Ensure everyone appropriately dressed/has buoyancy aid.
