As you will be aware, everyone who takes part in dinghy sailing activities at AYC, aged 16 years or over, is expected to take part in the duty rota of officers of the day and support boat crews. The 2020 rota is now available on the AYC website for you to volunteer for sessions. If everyone takes their turn it is not too onerous. Please try and volunteer for a minimum of 3-4 duties throughout the season. You can do more if you wish (!) and those who have done the PB2 course at a subsidised rate should sign up for 4-5 duties minimum. If you find that you cannot fulfil your duty nearer the time you can use the swap facility. (Cadet Week duties will be organised separately).

To find the 'Duty Roster' page Login using your email and password - you will be taken to the 'Member's Portal' page and from there just click the 'Duty Roster' link (see screen shot attached). Support boat helms are expected to have completed the PB2 course (RYA Safety Boat training is a bonus) or be experienced support boat helms. No qualifications are needed to act as crew but we will try and pair a more experienced person with the less experienced support boat helms.

The officer of the day ensures that everyone signs in, the club dinghies are allocated appropriately and that there is sufficient support boat cover for the weather conditions & number of participants. They also co-ordinate the beach support for launch & retrieval of dinghies/support boats - please consider signing up for an OOD session, you aren't expected to be an expert and there is always support available if needed.

Any duties that are not filled by 6pm on Sunday 15th March will be allocated to those who have not chosen their own.

Thanks for your support.
