An Introduction to Dinghy Racing

For all those sailors who have blown away the sailing cobwebs and for those of you looking to develop/hone your sailing skills round a simple course, the Sunday sessions are for you and will be great fun! With fun prizes for all ! And the AYC club bar will be open for a debrief and prize giving.

This Sunday 13th will be the starting procedure & race start. Commencing on land with a briefing we will then get on the sea and practice the starting procedure and getting you over the start line at the right time. A good start is the often key to getting ahead in the race!

We are encouraging all Youth and Adult sailors to come out on a Sunday. If you are confident enough to sail your boat or a club dinghy around a predetermined course (typically Level 2 skills or equivalent) then you are ready to have a go at racing. If you think that your not ready but want to be involved then buddy up with an expieranced helm. Alternatively put your name down and we will try to accommodate where we can.
