Clubhouse Now Painted!

Published 17:04 on 12 Jun 2020

Volunteers have been working hard on the clubhouse over the last two weeks and the painting inside and out is almost completed. Signs are on the doors, benches are in place, and mirrors, loo roll holders, soap dispensers and hooks are on the walls. Notice boards are back up in the main entrance and the brewery engineer has finished installing the beer pipes and cooler in the new beer store. A massive thank you to all the volunteers who have helped with this.

Sarah has done a fantastic job deep cleaning the original part of the clubhouse and Rob has very kindly sorted the bar out so that we are in a good position to start using this as soon as the Government guidelines allow. The Government has indicated that pubs and restaurants may be able to open as early as 4th July as long as they are 'COVID 19 Secure'. It is not clear at the moment whether this would just be outdoor areas or whether the indoor space could be used too. We certainly have a good amount of outdoor space we could use (weather permitting!) but we would like to make sure that the clubhouse is ready should we be able to use the indoor space as well.

In preparation for this we need 2 or 3 volunteers to help Tony make the clubhouse 'COVID 19 Secure'. The ward room needs a final clean and then the furniture can be put back in a way that ensures that we can maintain social distancing if and when the bar re-opens. We will also be laying out a one way system. If you could spare some time to help with this, please contact Tony Hinton (contact tel no. on printed programme).
