Dinghy training

AYC aims to help cadets and adults develop their skills in a way that is complementary to the way that the RYA teaches and offers a number of short courses for beginners and improvers over the summer months (details of 2017 courses will be posted soon). The Training Committee is aiming to add dinghy instruction to the Club's list of RYA recognised courses for 2017. This is still dependent on us securing the services of a qualified Senior Dinghy Instructor, but we are hopeful that suitable arrangements can be made with the intention of being recognised in time for the summer season.

It is important to emphasize that the Club is not aiming to become a commercial RYA sea school, but being a dinghy sailing RTC would allow us to certificate the courses we run for our members. Until we can offer RYA certificated dinghy courses at AYC, members have the chance to complete stages/levels of the RYA National & Youth Dinghy Sailing Schemes at nearby centres.

15 cadets & 5 adults received dinghy training at Sutton Bingham sailing club during the June 2016 half term week. All gained new skills & confidence - congratulations to the following who gained RYA certificates:
