As you will be well aware by now Sunday 21st September 2014 sees the attempt to set a world record for the largest sailing race. At the AYC we are fully supporting this attempt.
The Bay Race planned for that day which is September R5 (Bay) will be sailed as part of the Bart's Bash Race so these results will be used as part of the September series.
We need a minimum of 25 boats on the water that afternoon, looking at the growing numbers of boats entering the races this season for example the Brixham race and the RNLI weekend this should not be a problem but we would like to see some of the people who have not raced before come and join in for the afternoon. The actual race is anticipated to be a fun event and is more about getting boats on the water in aid of a good cause.
Please take the opportunity to sign up now whilst its fresh in your minds it only takes a couple of minutes: http://www.bartsbash.co.uk/club/axe-yacht-club
There is good news about this race as well all the handicaps will be special for the day allocated by Bart's Bash so you will have a good chance of not just being first at the Axe but first in the world!
